Meet the Team

  • David Edgell started Edgell Building in 1979 as a small remodeling company in Missoula, Montana. Soon, Dave’s innovative ideas, precise attention to detail, and unwillingness to settle for mediocrity, propelled Edgell Building to the forefront of Western Montana home building. In addition to single-family home building throughout the valley and beyond, Dave also focused on creating desirable neighborhoods in and around Missoula, including Prospect and Stonybrook. In a variety of price points, these communities continue to be some of the most sought-after and well-loved areas of town. Dave understands the importance of homeownership to foster a connection to place, and prioritized building workforce housing neighborhoods like Hellgate Meadows, Windsor Park, Bentley Park, and Scott Street Village. With an emphasis on quality craftsmanship, these homes are built to be affordable and attainable to Missoulians.

Edgell Building expanded into commercial construction in the 1990s, and continues to have a full-service, solutions-driven commercial department.

Now led by his son, Mark Edgell, Edgell Building continues Dave’s legacy of honesty, unmatched integrity, and commitment to meaningful relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and others throughout the Missoula building industry.

In his retirement, Dave is thrilled to spend time with his wife Sylvia, their three children, and 11 grandchildren. Though he has plenty to keep him busy, Dave continues to work on Edgell Building special projects, and even likes to pop into the office now and then.

Client Testimonial
We feel so fortunate to have been able to use Edgell builders. Every step in the process was enjoyable—no step was overlooked or not discussed. We love our home more daily and still have great communication with the builder. I never hesitate to recommend Edgell and actively look for opportunities to sing their praises!
